College Cup
UVa is rolling toward their 6th National Championship after beating defending champion Maryland 3-0 last night. Transfer keeper Diego has been magical
in goal, and came up big last week against Portland to preserve the 1-0 win for the Hoos. Freshman Bates has done all you can ask in stepping up for
Ownby. I have seen two UVa games this year: a preseason loss to WVa (0-2) when the Cavs did not look ready, and the Portland post season game that
really could have gone either way most of the match. But when you face Maryland three times in 5 weeks and come away with a 2-0-1 record then I gotta
believe this group is capable of two more wins.
Akron was very smooth in their 2-0 win over VT in Blacksburg, and they carry themselves like champions and move like Wake Forest on the pitch.
If the ticket fairy comes through we will be ring side next Friday in Cary, pulling hard for Virginia.
I wonder where they will put the sixth star on the jerseys next year?

So, Carolina gets a bye into the Final? I don't think so. Akron Zips are too much this year.

How about starting a new row along the bottom of the emblem?

Maybe they can take the stars off the jersey and start a row on the back of the shorts, kind of like the cheerleader Soffee shorts . . . . . . .

...because it's the sort of thing that is best not left behind.
But seriously, who is your favorite in the final four? It's down to 25% odds at this point. Any one of the four is deserving now, and often times it
comes down to the lucky bounce or a mistake. I can't see any one team that is capable of dominating. If the match comes down to the midfield, then I
like Va. because of their size. If the match comes down to the feet (no pun intended) then the nod would go to Akron or Wake. If things hinge on
speed, then NC is in the running (again, no pun intended). It's been two years since I saw the Tarheels play, so correct me if I'm wrong.
I am looking forward to the whole affair this weekend.

Akron played with such poise on every build up of the attack but just could not get a finishing touch against the UVa defense. UVa came away with
another NCAA star but they sure got a lesson on posession, which is something they should work on in future years, imo.
Akron would have a loss or two playing in the ACC, but they proved they can play with any team out there.

Congratulations UVA
I was pulling for UNC and was disappointed they did not make the final. Still, I bought last minute scalped tickets and went to UVA/Akron game.
Cold, wet, windy, intense game with exceptional defense by UVA. Also great crowd. The Akron fans were very entertaining.
The same player who won the previous game on a PK for Akron missed the last PK on Sunday. Live by PKs, die by PKs.

They put the sixth star in line with the other five above the UVa emblem. It's getting crowded up there.
