According to the calendar, they should be in Portugal right now.
What a great place to visit. Hope the girls are doing well.

Well, I have been known to follow the R1 Boys, especially the last few years. They have traveled to Italy and Argentina, and this year the United
Kingdom in April.

Sounds great. Did you make the trips? What a great time for the kids.
We follow the region III girls. Last year we went to Costa Rica and leave for Germany and Holland at the end of the month. Costa Rica was the best
time we ever had. I Worry about the strength of the dollar in Germany this year.

I have not been out of the country, unless you count Toronto and the Bahamas on a three day Carnival cruise. Passports were not needed then.
I was kind of like the younger brother in the movie "A River Runs Through It", when he said "I'll never leave Montana, brother".
But I have aged beyond that notion now, and alas, I will be leaving for Europe soon. It is a responsibilty that must be undertaken.

Made my way in to the Kapolan Mall and Centrum this morning. Had to stop by the tourist center to pick up a couple Dala Horse carvings (Dalahasten).
Weather is good for this time of the year for walking and slalom.

Ah Borlange. I spent a week there last summer. Unfortunatley while we were there they broke a 50 year record for the most rain in a weekly period and
it never got above 12 degrees C (54 F). Other than that I thought it was nice small town. Easy to walk or bike anywhere you want to go and the
people are very freindly and speak english very well. Evidently they have a great music festival each summer. Motley Crew stayed in our hotel the
week before we got there and left damage to the night club/bar area.

Oh it was great fun. I just returned last night, but my son is staying until June to train with IK Brage in Borlange. I don't know if he will be
joining R1 for the April trip to the UK. Either way, he stays in Europe for a while.
I watched three training sessions during the week for the U19 Juniors, the team he is currently training with. Everything is still preseason right
now.

I am guessing that you and your family are having a fantastic soccer year. What a great experience! Best of luck to your son overseas.

IK Brage U19 juniors loaded up and took off for the preseason camp this morning. They will stay until Sunday, play two matches in Sundsvall and train
with the A team professionals. Season starts April 25 with the first three matches at Brage.
Weather is warmer now on Borlange, 40s and pushing 50. Snow is melting.

Absolutely. The host family was terrific and he trained about 5-7 times a week with matches on the weekend with the U19 Juniors. School work was a bit
tougher being outside the classroom, but distance learning was a viable alternative. Grades dipped a bit but that was expected. :/
He made time for doing some new and different things...innebandy(indoor floor ball or hockey on wood floors), snow skiing which he never seemed to
have time for here, and he would have gone sky diving but mom was not comfortable with that, and a tatoo that says Jag ar fri...which I was not
comfortable with. There was a trip to Stockholm as well. He rode a bike to some of the practices, but usually took the bus.
The host home took care of his room and board and the family has become close friends of our family. There were three boys, ages 10, 8, and 7. The
mother was a Swedish National team player and the father is a big ski buff that enters cross country events.
He was asked to sign an amateur contract, but his mind was made up in advance to attend college. That's why UVa aint bad.
